Endorsement is a verification process where agencies must show proof their organization meets 19 credibility standards. This process, balanced with final funding decisions made by volunteer panels, ensures donor dollars are always invested in sound organizations that are efficiently and effectively making a difference in the education, income and health of our community.
Endorsement by United Way is a necessary condition to be considered for funding through United Way's Community Impact Fund, but does not guarantee or imply requests will be granted. All agencies who have achieved endorsed agency status by United Way are eligible to apply for grants under United Way's three priority areas.
Agency Endorsement reviews are conducted confidentially by United Way's Executive Director, Director of Finance and Administration, and Community Impact Director. Some applications in question may be brought before the United Way Board of Directors for further guidance and recommendation. The privacy of each agency's sensitive information is a top priority of United Way's staff and Board of Directors.
Applications are available on the United Way website under the Community Impact Tab, or by contacting United Way directly. Complete applications, along with all supporting documentation and an agency summary not to exceed two pages outlining agency's mission, history, programs, and community benefit, should be returned by February 26, 2010 to:

No late applications will be accepted and incomplete applications will be reviewed only at the discretion of United Way. Applications not meeting all 19 standards will not be accepted for endorsement. Application and documentation should be submitted on 8 ½ x 11 paper, unstapled, and copied on front side only.
